The Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF)- a joint initiative of the Government of Assam and Tata Trusts- hires nursing professionals for its comprehensive cancer care network across Assam, focusing on providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality cancer care.
Staff Nurse Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to cancer patients, including administration of chemotherapy, assisting in radiotherapy, and palliative care.
- Patient Monitoring: Assess patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and maintain detailed patient records.
- Treatment Protocols: Administer medicines and treatments, including IV infusions, while maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
- Patient & Family Counselling: Provide emotional support and educate patients and families regarding the disease, treatment, and self-care.
- Coordination: Collaborate with oncologists, specialists, and other healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient management.
- Operational Support: Maintain, audit, and update department records.
Key Requirements and Skills:
- Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Preference is given to those with 0-3 years of experience in oncology, ER, OT, or critical care.
- Skills: Strong communication skills (English, Hindi, and local language), ability to work in a team, and proficiency in computer skills (MS Office).
- Attitude: Empathetic, caring, and comfortable with rural surroundings or working in remote locations.
- Age Limit: Generally 21-35 years.
