Associate Consultant - Radiology - Hospital - MD (1-10 yrs)

MD (Radio diagnosis).

- Provide radio diagnosis support to medical care of the patients.

- Conduct & generate timely reports on results of tests / procedures viz. X ray, Ultrasound, CT Scan, MRI etc

- Ensure that the labs have facilities necessary for rendering patient care.

- Supervise all nursing/ Para-medical & non medical staff of the department to maintain discipline as per standard operating procedures

Co-ordinate on all matters relating to:

- Provision of infrastructure and maintenance support

- Selection of type and nature of medical consumables and equipment to be procured

Assists the Head of Department & Senior Consultant for:

- Special material management requirement

- Ensure quality of performance of the department

- Ensure optimum utilization of resources by the him/her and subordinates

- Complaint redressal of patients

- Ensure quality of investigation & reports by eliminating error in procedures & reporting

- To ensure cost effectiveness of the operation of the department

- Keep abreast with latest research, development techniques in the field of Radiology.

- Responsible for Business planning, including the assessment and introduction of new methods, and forward planning for staff and equipment requirements.

- Maintain an in-service training/educational programme for all staff in the department

- Start with round in IPD & ICU along with resident doctors, senior consultant, staff nurse & monitoring the admitted patients.

- Advising resident doctors to continue / discontinue earlier prescribed medicine and advise additional treatment, if any.

- Monitoring the progress of the patient.

- Advising resident doctors for discharge of the patient & scrutinizing discharge summary.

- Management of OPD patients.

- Advising patient for investigation if required.

- Based out of investigation report treatment of patient should be done.

- Referring serious patients out of our control to higher centre(spoke)

- Referring patients to other consultants of other specialties within Fortis hospitals, if required.

- Admission of OPD patients in ICU or IPD, if required.

- Follow-up & counseling of patients as and when required.

- Monitoring of discharge summary.

- Strictly adhering to the medical ethics & management rules & regulations

- Assists the Head of Department/ Medical Director for:

- Special material management requirement

- Ensure quality of performance of the department

- Ensure optimum utilization of resources by the him/her and subordinates

- Complaint redressal of patients

- Co-ordinate on all matters relating to Provision of infrastructure and maintenance support

- Selection of type and nature of medical consumables and equipment to be procured

- Ensure that equipment in the department is functioning satisfactorily or will take necessary corrective action to ensure this.
