Conducting hearing tests: Audiologists use a variety of techniques and tools to measure hearing sensitivity and identify the type and severity of hearing loss.

Developing treatment plans: Based on the results of the hearing tests, audiologists develop customized treatment plans for their patients. This may include hearing aids, cochlear implants, or other assistive devices.

Fitting and programming hearing aids: Audiologists are responsible for fitting and programming hearing aids to ensure that they are comfortable and effective for their patients.

Providing counseling: Audiologists provide counseling to patients and their families to help them understand their hearing loss and the impact it may have on their lives.

Assessing communication disorders: SLPs evaluate patients with speech, language, and communication disorders to identify the cause and severity of their condition.

Developing treatment plans: Based on the assessment, SLPs develop individualized treatment plans for their patients to improve their communication skills. Treatment plans may include exercises, therapy sessions, and the use of assistive technology.

Treating speech disorders: SLPs work with patients who have speech disorders, such as stuttering, articulation disorders, and voice disorders, to improve their ability to communicate effectively.

Treating language disorders: SLPs work with patients who have language disorders, such as difficulty with grammar, vocabulary, or comprehension, to improve their ability to understand and use language effectively.

Treating swallowing disorders: SLPs work with patients who have swallowing disorders, such as dysphagia, to improve their ability to swallow food and liquid safely.

Providing counseling: SLPs provide counseling to patients and their families to help them understand the nature of their communication or swallowing disorder and develop coping strategies.
