- Job Title: Consultant - Emergency Physician

Job Summary:

The Consultant Emergency Physician is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based emergency medical care to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department. This role includes clinical assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, treatment, and referral of acutely ill or injured patients. The Consultant is also responsible for supervising junior staff, coordinating with specialty services, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide immediate medical attention to patients presenting with life-threatening conditions.

- Perform rapid assessment and initiate resuscitative and stabilizing measures.

- Lead and coordinate trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, and code blue responses.

- Perform emergency procedures including intubation, central venous access, chest tube insertion, and point-of-care ultrasound.

- Ensure timely triage, evaluation, and management of all patients in accordance with standard treatment protocols.

- Supervise and mentor medical officers, interns, residents, and nurses.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., surgery, orthopedics, cardiology) for patient care and referrals.

- Document medical records, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately and promptly.

- Participate in quality assurance, audits, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical pathways and SOPs in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

- MBBS with MD/DNB in Emergency Medicine or MD in General Medicine/Anaesthesia with experience in Emergency Care.

- Fellowship in Emergency Medicine or ACLS/BLS/ATLS certification preferred.

- Minimum 2 to 4 years of clinical experience in a high-volume Emergency Department (mention specific number if needed).
