Consultant - Fetal Medicine (2-5 yrs)

Fellowship in Fetal medicine post MD Radiology or post MS OBG.


Experience in performing high level Antenatal scans, Fetal ECHO, Fetal doppler, Anomaly scans, Amniocentesis, cord blood sampling, CVS, Fetal neurosonogram.


Key Responsibilities


1. Fetal Assessment & Diagnosis


- Perform detailed anomaly scans, target scans, and growth scans.


- Conduct first-trimester screening, including nuchal translucency (NT) scans and early anomaly scans.


- Carry out specialized imaging like Doppler studies, biophysical profiles, and fetal echocardiography.


- Detect fetal abnormalities, congenital defects, and genetic risks.


2. Prenatal Diagnostic Procedures


- Perform or coordinate procedures such as:


- Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)


- Amniocentesis


- Cordocentesis


- Ensure safety protocols and informed consent processes are followed.


3. Fetal Therapeutic Interventions (as applicable and depending on facility capability)


- Intrauterine blood transfusions


- Fetoscopic interventions (laser therapy, shunt placement)


- In-utero medication administration


4. Antenatal Counselling


- Provide clear, compassionate counselling to expectant parents regarding:


- Fetal anomalies


- Genetic risks


- Prognosis and treatment options


- Support decision-making regarding continuation, intervention, or termination based on medical guidelines.


5. Pregnancy Monitoring & High-Risk Care


- Manage pregnancies with complications such as:


- IUGR


- Multiple gestation


- Pre-eclampsia risk


- Placental abnormalities
