Qualification : MD/DM/DNB - Pulmonary Medicine/Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine + Qualification Interventional Pulmonary Medicine experience or DMRD/DNB/MD - Radio-Diagnosis/ DM - Intervenational Radiology + Qualification in Interventional Pulmonary Medicine.

Job Description : 


An Interventional Pulmonology Advanced Practice Provider works in collaboration with a Physician/ group of consulting providers that specialize in the management of complex airway and pleural diseases. Interventional Pulmonology offers advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to aid in the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the lung. In general, the Advanced Practice Provider exercises autonomy in medical decision-making and provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to adult patients with a variety of pulmonary disorders. This may include managing patients with complex, acute, critical and chronic pulmonary conditions. In addition, the individual collects and assists in the interpretation of reports from diagnostic and laboratory tests, radiographic procedures and clinical studies. The position typically analyzes, compares and evaluates various courses of action and has the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.

The primary work setting for a position in Interventional Pulmonology is variable and could include both inpatient and outpatient clinical work.

Inpatient clinical work can include :

- Inpatient consultation and follow up

- Presenting patients at multidisciplinary tumor board discussions

- Pre-procedure H&Ps and consents

- Independently preforming inpatient pleural and airway procedures

- Assisting in Bronchoscopic procedures

- Participates in procedure based clinical trials

- Patient education

Outpatient clinical work can include :

- New patient and return clinic visit consultations

- Pre-procedure/Pre-op clinic evaluation

- Outpatient thoracentesis clinic - evaluates and preforms procedure

- Lung cancer screening/ Pulmonary nodule program

- Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction program

- Research/ Database collection

- Patient education
