Consultant - Nephrologist - Hospital - MBBS/MD/DM/DNB (1-5 yrs)

Experience: Minimum 1- 5 years post-DM/DNB Nephrology
Type: Full-time/Part-time/Visiting Consultant (as per requirement)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Nephrologist to join our team to manage patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, including those requiring dialysis and renal transplant evaluation. The ideal candidate should be skilled in nephrology procedures and passionate about patient care and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nephrology care including diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with CKD, AKI, ESRD, and electrolyte disorders.
- Supervise and manage hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients.
- Guide and support the dialysis team, including technicians and nurses, in treatment protocols and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate and manage patients for renal transplant work-up and post-transplant follow-up (if facility is available).
- Interpret kidney biopsies, imaging, and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with other specialties (cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine, ICU) for holistic management of critically ill patients.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, infection control protocols, and patient safety norms.
- Provide patient and family education about disease progression, lifestyle changes, and treatment adherence.
- Participate in CMEs, academic sessions, and public awareness programs as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- MBBS + MD (Internal Medicine) + DM/DNB (Nephrology)
- Valid registration with MCI or State Medical Council
- Proficiency in managing dialysis units and nephrology emergencies
- Experience with central venous access placement and biopsy interpretation (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in managing high-dependency nephrology patients
- Familiarity with renal transplant protocols (optional based on facility)
- Empathetic approach and ethical clinical practice
- Comfortable with EMR and hospital information systems
- Remuneration: Competitive and negotiable - may include fixed monthly retainer, OPD/ward visit charges, and dialysis session-based incentives.
