Job Summary:

As a Consultant Neurologist, you will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurological conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care. Your role will include providing consultations, conducting diagnostic tests, and developing comprehensive treatment plans for patients with various neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

- Conduct detailed patient assessments and history taking.

- Perform neurological examinations and interpret diagnostic tests.

- Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and neurodegenerative disorders.

- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and follow-up care.

- Provide emergency neurological care as required.

- Manage both inpatient and outpatient care, including consultations and ongoing patient management.

Consultation and Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other specialists and healthcare providers to deliver integrated patient care.

- Provide expert advice on complex neurological cases to other healthcare professionals.

- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

Patient and Family Education:

- Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, treatment options, and management strategies.

- Provide guidance on lifestyle changes and rehabilitation therapies as needed.

Teaching and Training:

- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including residents and fellows.

- Conduct educational sessions and contribute to the training of medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Research and Development:

- Engage in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of neurological science.

- Stay current with emerging trends, research findings, and advancements in neurology.

Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

Qualifications:

- Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.

- Specialization: Completion of Neurology residency or equivalent training.

- Certification: Board certification in Neurology (e.g., ABPN, FRCP).

- Experience: Proven experience in a consultant or senior neurology role.
