JOB DESCRIPTION :

1. A professional approach must be adopted with all patients, staff and visitors.

2. To provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during hours of duty and work in conjunction with the other RMO to provide a 24 hour service to the hospital.

3. To clerk in and assess urgent admissions as required when the relevant consultant is not immediately available.

4. To receive a hand-over report on patients from the alternative RMO when commencing duty and to attend the ward areas to enable and establish consultant communication.

5. To ensure universal safety precautions are followed and infection control measures are undertaken.

6. Follow and respect the instructions given by the Consultants.

7. Ensure the required investigations are done and the request forms are duly filled and findings of reports documented in the progress notes of the Inpatient.

8. Ensure the drug charts are duly filled on day to day basis.

9. To ensure that the patients receive prompt & suitable care especially in emergency cases.

10. To take efficient professional care of patients under the advice of consultant/ Sr. Resident.

11. A Sr. Medical Officer/ Resident Medical Officer is primarily responsible for the case allotted to him in his Ward. As soon as the case is admitted patient will be examined by the Medical Officer/ Sr. Medical Officer who will write down the case sheet in details and he will inform/ show the case to concerned Sr. Resident/ Consultant. As per the advice of Sr. Resident / Consultant, he will make all arrangements for investigations & drug therapy.

12. Should be responsible for daily follow up of the cases and make endorsement in BHT.

13. Carry out all documentation of the patient relating to patient care.

14. Should perform other duties assigned to him/ her from time to time.

15. Medical Officer/ Sr. Medical Officer are authorised to issue death certificate.

JOB SPECIFICATION

- Education & Experience: Should be MBBS from a recognised institution

- Required skills: Implies the latest methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Verbal Ability and communication Skill. Work accurately and with minimal supervision.

- Required Knowledge: Knowledge of management of patients and provide back-up support to the consultant.

REPORTING :- Report to Medical Superintendent.

Working Time: Morning Shift/Evening Shift/Night Shift in rotation wise with 48 working hours/week.

Remuneration : Rs.45000/- per month (consolidated)
