Director - Medical Services
- Provides clinical and administrative direction for the clinical operation of medical departments and services. Formulates, implements policies and procedures, and participates in strategic and operational decision-making. Directs, coordinates, and oversees the administration of all clinical personnel and associated support staff.
Consultant Management:
- Responsible for Interview and Selection of the Consultants
- Responsible for hiring of Star Consultants
- Responsible for Credentialing and privileges of the Consultants
- Responsible for Developing, establishing policies and objectives consistent with those of the organization mission to ensure efficient operation of individual operating medical department/services
Consultant Engagement:
- Responsible for retention of Consultants
- Exposure programs
- To Plan, implement and evaluate all clinical care services provided by the unit, as well as all associated administrative operations and activities
Junior Medical Staff Management:
- Devising deployment norms for Junior Medical Staff
- Guiding the medical administration team and engagement of JMS on patient care
- Responsible for compliance of medical protocols by JMS
Committee(s) Management:
- Responsible for initiating an environment of participative management in clinical engagement through various forums:
- Consultants Core Committee
- Infection control committee
- Ethics committee
- Consultants credentials committee
- Drug committee
- Blood transfusion committee
Patient Care:
- Responsible for establishing, maintaining patient care protocol and standards, so that all regulations and guidelines for patient care are met
- Responsible for increasing the bar on patient satisfaction
- To closely work with Consultants and Allied health professionals for better medical outcomes
- Counseling of patients in critical care services
- Review of long duration inpatients
Quality :
- To Oversee reporting and communication of quality improvement initiatives, quality and patient safety awareness, safety culture survey administration, and recognition programs
- Facilitator of JCI/NABH Accreditation
- Medical Audits and act on findings
Other activities:
- Media Management
- Overseeing the overall working of the medical records department
- Liaison with Government officials and department of Health and Family Welfare of the respective state and
Government of India
- Coordination with HODs and consultants
- Provides or coordinate in providing the medical expertise to improve medical management of patients.
Candidate Profile :
Qualification : MBBS with Post-Graduate preferably with a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration.
Work Experience:
- 15+ years proven record of accomplishment and progressive experience in the field of Medical Administration, including at least 5 years in a senior position with similar functions at a reputed hospital of 200+ beds.
- Administrative experience in Budgeting, Personnel and Staff development, Planning and Programming.
- Experience in effectively representing hospital needs with an understanding of the broader economic demands that need to be balanced in a strong academic enterprise
