Job Title: Duty Medical Officer (MBBS) - Diagnostics Centre
Department: Medical Services/Diagnostics Centre
Reports To: Medical Director/Centre Head
Location: Kozhikode, Kerala
Job Summary:
The Duty Medical Officer (MBBS) will be responsible for providing high-quality medical services in a diagnostic centre. The role will involve overseeing patient assessments, providing consultations, performing basic diagnostic evaluations, and ensuring that diagnostic results are interpreted correctly. The Duty Medical Officer will work in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the proper care and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct initial consultations with patients, including medical history, symptoms, and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Provide timely diagnoses based on test results and physical examinations.
Medical Consultation:
- Offer clinical advice and consultation to patients regarding their health concerns and diagnostic findings.
- Recommend appropriate medical treatments, lifestyle changes, or referrals to specialists as necessary.
Supervision of Diagnostic Processes:
- Ensure that diagnostic tests and processes are being conducted properly by technicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Review and verify the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic reports from laboratories or imaging departments.
Emergency Response and First Aid:
- Provide immediate medical attention in the case of emergencies within the diagnostics centre.
- Administer first aid or basic life support as required.
Medical Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, diagnostic results, treatment plans, and prescriptions.
- Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in accordance with health regulations and organizational policies.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with laboratory technicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and diagnostics.
- Communicate with patients regarding their test results, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to medical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements for diagnostic procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in medical diagnostics and treatments to ensure high-quality patient care.
Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from a recognized medical college.
Experience:
- Prior experience in clinical settings, particularly in diagnostic centres, hospitals, or healthcare facilities.
- Experience in patient evaluation, diagnostics, and management is desirable.
Licensing and Certification:
- Valid medical license to practice in [Country/Region].
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
Skills:
- Strong understanding of medical diagnostics, laboratory tests, and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Work Conditions:
Working Hours:
