- Carryout the procedures of admission & discharge of the patient.

- Make beds for the patients & help or guide House Keeping employees to make beds by supplying linen.

- Maintain personal hygiene & comforts of the patients.

- Attend to the nutritional needs of the patients & feed the helpless patients.

- Maintain clean & safe environment for the patient.

- Co-ordinate patient care with other team members.

- Take rounds with the doctors & carry out the orders & instructions given by the doctors.

- Administration of medication to assigned patients- orally, injections, infusions & transfusions as prescribed.

- Assisting doctors in various medical, surgical & diagnostic procedures by preparing the patient & required things.

- Recording vital signs.

- Performing urinary catheterization, I.V access, oral suctioning, GRBS, Insulin administration, Nebulization, Oxygen inhalation, tube feeding, enema, bowel wash, dressing, stomach wash, eye & ear care, collection & sending of specimen, pre & post-operative care, assist in administration of transfusion, perennial care, breast care, baby care etc.

- Perform initial nursing assessment, pain assessment & re assessment.

- Provide health education to patients & relatives.

- Prepare patient for operation & see that the patient is sent to O.T with all necessary documents & medications.

- Observe all patient's conditions & take suitable actions accordingly & or report any changes in patient's condition to the doctor or the physician following up with proper documentation.

- Attend last offices in case of a patient dying during shifts & arrange to preserve dead body in mortuary or handover the body with respect to concerned family members/relatives.

- Treat patients with total compassion & Full respect for the dignity & uniqueness of every individual.

- Maintain the privacy & confidentiality of the patient's records & information.

- Indent drugs, order therapeutic diet, lab ordering, draw & send blood investigations to the laboratory, follow up reports & inform to consultants/ residents.

- Take over from duty nurse of the previous shift, inventory, instruments, supplies, drugs etc. & handover the same accordingly.

- Maintain all the records pertaining to ward according to NABH standards & policies.

- Maintain case sheet, investigation reports etc.

- Maintain Vital signs chart, Intake Output chart & other special charts if necessary.

- Take special attention to the special cases like Medico-Legal cases.

- Attend to any other work assigned by higher authority.

- Assisting for all kind aseptic procedure.

- Staffs should be ready for Inter departmental rotational work.

- Staffs should maintain sound inventory Control in their respective department.

- Maintain a safety protocols for the staffs & for the patients.

- Should attend the regular CNE's.

- Ensure the needs of patients are met during procedures and the unit is tidy at all times.
