Job Description

- Required to go for ambulance calls and to assess and manage the patient appropriately on the way to the hospital, Initial assessment and management of every patient coming to the triage, with the help of the Sr. Residents,

- To accompany the patient being shifted from triage to the ICUs (MICU/SPICU/CCU)

- To assess and appropriately manage the patients admitted in HDUs /MICU ensuring that the consultants orders are carried out timely.

- To report any fresh development (especially clinical deterioration) of the patient to the concerned consultant.

- Resident is required to type the discharge summaries / death summaries.

- To carry out bedside procedures like tapping & to accompany unstable patients for radiological investigations Resident on duty in triage is to do the required documentation in medico-legal cases. They are also required to go for court evidence as an expert witness when called for. They are required to for local and out-station medical camps when called for. They are required to give medical cover for sports events and social events when called for by the management.

- Accompany consultant doctors on IPD Ward visits.

- In the absence of the Consultant - Pay timely visits to In - patients and treat the patients along the indicated line of treatment.

- Conduct medical procedure under supervision after getting the consent from patients attendant.

- Implementation of Quality (ISO/NABH/JCI) protocols in patient care.

- Complete and correct documentation of patient file & records.

- Check and authorize all diagnostic requisition slips.

- Make available emergency medicines in ICU and IP Ward.

- Monitor the Nursing care Proper Medication, timely vitals recording etc.

- Inspect maintenance of the Patient ward during his Duty Attend emergencies and informing consultant doctors for further action.

- Providing the information regarding the patients condition to his/her attendant whenever required.

- Check the diet chart, medicine chart, vitals chart frequently

- Coordinate with all nursing/Para medical & non medical staff of the department to maintain high standard of medical care to the patients.

- Any other tasks assigned by the HOD/ management from time to time.
