Global Medical Advisor - New Disease & Obesity Medical Affairs (2-16 yrs)

The Position :

The primary role of this position is to be responsible for the overall performance of the New disease and obesity Medical Affairs Department including timely planning and proper execution of projects and deliverables. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for executing on the below deliverables at a managerial level,

- People Management: Function as a people manager for the New disease and obesity Medical Affairs department with overall responsibility for performance; set strategy and direction for Team Leads and a team of direct reports.

- Medical Affairs activities: Responsible for delivery of timely, accurate, and credible scientific medical guidance across medical affairs focus areas towards internal and external stakeholders.

- Collaboration across Obesity and New Diseases Medical Affairs and other units in GBS.

Qualifications :

- Medical Doctor, Masters / PhD in Life sciences and/or specialist degree.

- Has a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience. 


- Experience in global, regional or affiliate (back office and/or field) experience preferred.

- People management experience of at least 3 years (People management of first-line managers of at least 2 years is preferred).

- Additional education and experience in pharma business/marketing.

- Willingness to coach colleagues and support team development.

- Teamwork skills, ability to get results through others and to work in a highly motivated team.

- Extrovert, engaged, dynamic, results-driven.

- Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment.

- Ability to engage and collaborate with people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.)

- Excellent networking abilities.

- Experience and willingness to work in an international matrix organization.

- Excellent presentation skills.

- Strategic mindset.

- Passionate about influencing industry from a medical point of view.

- Ability to manage complex tasks and organizational issues.
