Laboratory Administrator - Clinical Lab - DMLT/BMLT (5-10 yrs)

Role and Responsibilities:

Management Functions:

- Design lab process flows for efficient and smooth operations.

- Ensure compliance with Lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

- Maintain Turnaround Time (TAT) for all tests.

- Coordinate with Procurement, IT, HR, Finance, Sales & Marketing teams.

- Ensure availability of adequately trained lab personnel for all activities, including sample collection, processing and reporting.

- Coordinate with clinicians and end-users to gather feedback for continuous improvement.

- Manage vendor relationships for lab equipment maintenance and timely troubleshooting.

- Oversee lab inventory management and budget planning.

- Ensure cost-effective operations and resource utilization.

- Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of lab employees.

- Supervise the development of new lab tests and technologies.

Administrative Functions:

- Work with the central team to plan, organize, and direct lab operations in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

- Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across lab locations.

- Stay updated with medical regulations and advise the management on necessary changes.

- Provide clinical guidance and regularly report lab performance to senior management.

- Act as a liaison between lab services and administration.

- Participate in budget planning and monitoring, ensuring financial efficiency.

Essential Functions:

- Oversee lab operations, employee utilization, and ethical standards.

- Ensure proper scheduling of lab technicians and coverage for daily operations.

- Manage leave and vacation planning to avoid service disruptions.

- Conduct annual performance evaluations for lab staff.

- Validate daily quality control processes.

- Ensure timely maintenance of lab instruments and troubleshoot operational issues.

- Supervise test referrals, billing, and financial reporting.

- Implement best practices for quality, safety, and efficiency in lab services.

Performance Metrics:

- Turnaround Time (TAT) for test results

- Customer satisfaction with lab services

- Employee satisfaction and team performance

- Timeliness and accuracy of lab reports

Qualifications, Experience & Education:

- Diploma/Bachelor's degree (DMLT/BMLT) in Medical Laboratory Technology

- Experience in clinical lab management
