JOB INTERACTIONS

KEY INTERNAL INTERACTION WITH

NATURE OF INTERACTION

- To ensure accurate and timely release of all relevant reports

Key Objective

To facilitate Timely Reporting of Accurate Results in the Department of Haematology, Immuno-haematology, and Clinical Pathology

Key Responsibilities

Process and Systems

1. Provide advice to those requesting information about the choice of tests, the use of the laboratory service, and the interpretation of laboratory data.

2. Serve as an active member of the medical staff in lab.

3. Function effectively with

- NABL/CAP & other Accrediting agencies.

- Appropriate administrative officials

- The healthcare community

- The patient, related clients.

4. To define, implement, and monitor standards of performance and quality improvement of the medical laboratory service or services.

5. To monitor all processes in the department, to determine that reliable data is being generated.

6. To provide contemporary educational programmes for the medical and laboratory staff, and participate in educational programmes of the institution.

7. To implement a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and applicable regulations.

8. To address any complaint, request or suggestion from users of laboratory services to ensure a good staff morale.

9. Review and report authorization in Haematology, Immuno-haematology, and Clinical Pathology.

10. To formulate review and recheck policies for all tests, and to ensure compliance with the help of Section head & Deputy Section head, & QA Team.

11. Verification of critical, unusual, and abnormal test results before release.

12. To interpret, correlate and generate medically significant laboratory data.

13. To attend general phone queries related to test enquiries, and interpretation of clinicians.

14. To chalk out SOPs for use and ensure compliance with respect to accreditation requirements.

15. To ensure results are reported within turn around time with the help of section head.

16. Interaction with clinicians/patients for queries regarding interpretation of reports, and suggestions.

17. To review and suggest improvement of reports formats.

18. To identify, analyse, and document complaints, and ensure corrective, and preventive action, and maintain records of the same.

19. To facilitate and identify new equipment, tests, technology, products, and standardization of assays.

20. To work closely with departmental HODs to create special test profiles, which would benefit the patient towards an early and accurate diagnosis.

Training and Development

Attend conferences/workshops to ensure updated knowledge about recent trends.

Basic Qualification/Education/Vocational Training : MBBS

Advanced Qualification/Certification/Specialist Training : MD Pathology

Minimum Experience : 3 Years

Specific / Relevant Experience : 20 years
