Lilac Insights - Junior Scientific Assistant - Cytogenetic Technologist (1-4 yrs)
1. Assists in various stages of cytogenetic/ FISH testing according to established protocols/ procedures.
2. Performs job duties in an efficient and organized manner within required time frame.
3. Receives specimens, assesses priority, assures appropriate specimen identification, and appropriate specimen type.
4. Completes related paperwork and/or computer documentation.
5. Performs instrument operation, maintenance, and documentation as defined by Technical Specialist and/or written policies.
6. Maintain a complete and accurate patient file including requisition, log book entry,cell culture and harvest record, as needed.
7. Performs administrative functions: such as physical and electronic record maintenance, updating logs, filing documents.
8. Able to multi-task with instrumentation and work priorities.
9. Inventory control and management.
10. Maintains cultured pellets for negative and positive controls.
11. Performs other job duties or projects as assigned.
Desired Skills :
1. Masters or Bachelors in Sciences
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet
3. Proficient verbal and written communication skills
4. Ability to work in a fast-past, deadline driven environment
5. Participate with and help other members of the team
