Position Description :

- The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive coordination of clinical care for patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and/or receiving cellular therapy.

- The Cellular Therapy/Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator is accountable to ensure that all patients who are being evaluated for and undergoing cell therapy and/or bone marrow transplantation receive care in an organized, consistent, efficient, and high quality manner.

- The role will help to shape the development and evolution of the cell therapy/bone marrow transplant service within the Hematologic malignancies program, serving to enhance its overall effectiveness, productivity, and quality.

- This position serves as the glue for facilitating an organized and comprehensive approach to the management of patients receiving cellular therapy and/or undergoing bone marrow transplants.

- This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Bone Marrow transplant (BMT) program and the Survivor Management Program involving patients, outside entities and the interdisciplinary BMT team.

- This position collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and various outside entities in order to obtain information, documentation, and data required prior to patients presenting to the BMT team for consideration and evaluation as a possible candidate for Bone Marrow Transplant.

Position Duties :

- Works directly with Transplant Medical director to assure appropriate scheduling of referred patients for transplantation.

- Takes initial intake information on all new patient referral, and assures that insurance approval for transplantation is obtained in a timely manner.

- Also works with referring institutions to educate and updated staff transplant process.

- Meets with all potential transplant patients and their families to establish contact and initiate education on transplantation process.

- Assist with discharge planning of all patients and clinic follow-ups. Assures that appropriate discharge information is communicated to the clinic staff and to referral centers once patient return back home.

- Maintains continuity of care for all transplant patients and serves as primary contact for patients and families.

- Assures that patients are assigned to all open and appropriate studies and that consents are obtained.

- Demonstrates high degree of critical thinking

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE :

- Minimum 1-8 years of varied and extensive hospital experience in ip operations,op operations, patient relationship management

- Experience in working with solid organ or bone marrow transplant patients is desired.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

Any Degree.

MBA in Hospital / Health care administration would be a plus.

UG : MBBS - Medicine, Any Graduate - Any Specialization

PG : MBA/PGDM - Hospitality Management, PG Diploma - Any Specialization, MS/M.Sc(Science) - Hospitality Administration
