Staff Nurses - [bone Marrow Transplantation & Critical Care].

Job Description :

- To follow Admission and Discharge criteria.

- To take appropriate nursing actions in emergency situations and other situations that compromise patient safety.

- Assisting doctors in performing procedures. Observing and recording patient vital signs.

- Administering intravenous fluids and medications.

- Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team.

- Assessing a patients condition and planning and implementing patient care plans.

- Treating wounds and providing advanced life support.

- Ensuring that ventilator, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly.

- Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment.

- Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients. In addition, some serve as case managers and policy makers, while others perform administrative duties.

- Ensures the patient is provided with appropriate information to make informed decisions relating to treatment, and care reflects patients preferences Provides nursing care according to plan and undertakes clinical practice procedures and skills in a competent and safe way.

- Providing education and support to patient families. Educates patient to maintain and promote health according to patient needs.

- Evaluates patients progress toward expected outcomes, including treatments and health education, in collaboration with the patient and the health care team

- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care seeking assistance and knowledge as and when required.

- To check emergency drugs and maintenance of crash cart as per the protocols.

To follow bed side procedures i.e., Bed bath, oral care and dressings etc.,

- Responsible to maintain infection control practices i.e., Hand Hygiene, Personal Protective Equipments, Bio medical Waste management, Safe injecting practices & Environmental Cleanings while extending nursing care to the patients

- Evaluates environmental safety, completes hazard identification and risk assessments.

- Initiates, maintains and concludes therapeutic interpersonal interactions with patients Communicates effectively, positively and courteously with patients and the health care team.

- Maintains and documents information necessary for continuity of care and recovery

- Demonstrates computer skills necessary to organize data for essential care delivery

Contributes to the support, direction and teaching of colleagues to enhance professional development

- Participates in continual quality improvement activities to monitor and improve standards of nursing.

Desired Candidate Profile :

1. Male or Female Diploma (GNM) or Degree (B.Sc-Nursing) candidates either Fresh with sound knowledge on subject and sufficient clinical practicals / internship knowledge on basic nursing care

or

Any experienced with experience in Critical-Care, ICU, SICU, MICU, CTICU, Emergency Ward, Bone Marrow Transplantation Division. Should be a registered Nurse. Those who have not completed their Registration may also apply.

2. Preference would be given to those who had registered with Nursing Council of India, but those who are awaiting for Registration / Renewal may also apply.

3. Preference would be given to those who had an experience more than one year in any Critical Care Department.
