Manipal Hospitals - Technician - Radiology (3-8 yrs)
Job Description :
- Adjusting and setting radiographic controls to the prescribed specifications for accurate timing of exposure and regulating the intensity and length of film exposure.
- Developing, fixing, washing, and drying exposed films using drying equipment and film processing.
- Positioning and restraining patients and taking X-rays of various parts of the patients as requested by the physicians.
- Selecting proper ionizing elements for radiological diagnosis.
- Checking X-rays for image clarity and recapturing X-rays when needed.
- Implementing infection control procedures and processes for the work environment.
- Distributing films to appropriate physicians or medical staff.
- Maintaining required records like patient records, monthly reports, and daily logbooks.
- Maintaining quality and quantity control checks so as to assure that X-ray unit meets required standards.
- Protecting patients and other departments from radiation hazards.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and making minor modifications to radiographic equipments, including detecting repairs required to equipment.

- Maintaining radiographic film, supplies, and equipment.
- Requesting, retrieving and tracking files from and to other centers or departments.
- Making medical appointments with hospitals for patients requiring special examinations like CAT scans, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound.
