JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

- Directs and coordinates activities of the Radiology department

- Review / Manage work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow.

- Oversee staff in operation of imaging equipment, such as x-ray machine, fluoroscope, CT scanner, USG, MRI equipment etc

- Compliance to the statutory regulations such as AERB, PC PNDT etc

- Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff.

- Management and Intimation of critical results & monitoring adverse events

- Management of administration of the contrast doses as per the dosage chart.

- Ensuring the delivery of reports as per report matrix

- Manage the department so as to enable attending calls in case of emergency or whenever needed.

- PACS management in coordination with the IT and other clinicians

- Verifying documents ( consent forms, prescription, bill, inpatient file etc. ) prior to taking up patient for required investigation

- Managing contrast reactions, if any

- Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff.

- Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing and, the purchasing of radiology supplies.

- Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.

- Inputs into developing the budget.

- Resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

- Participating in administrative / academic meetings and interdepartmental meetings

- Participate in Quality Improvement program

- Any other responsibility assigned by the management
