- Job Summary- :
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated NICU/PICU In-Charge to oversee the daily operations and management of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in neonatal and pediatric care, as well as proven leadership skills to manage a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring high-quality patient care, staff development, and efficient department operations.
- Key Responsibilities- :
1. - Clinical Management- :
- Supervise and coordinate the clinical operations of the NICU/PICU, ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of care for critically ill neonates and children.
- Provide expert clinical guidance and support to nursing and medical staff, ensuring best practices in patient care.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient records and procedures.
2. - Staff Supervision & Development- :
- Lead and manage a team of nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff, ensuring that all team members adhere to hospital policies and protocols.
- Mentor, train, and develop staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate professional development opportunities.
3. - Quality & Compliance- :
- Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and safety standards for NICU/PICU care.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of patient safety, infection control, and quality of care.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring the department meets all necessary accreditation requirements.
4. - Operational Leadership- :
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Pediatrics, Surgery, Radiology) to ensure coordinated care.
- Handle patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in alignment with hospital policies.
5. - Stakeholder Engagement- :
- Build and maintain relationships with families, providing them with updates and support as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for medical and nursing staff, addressing concerns and resolving any issues that may arise.
6. - Budget & Resource Management- :
- Assist in budgeting and resource management to ensure optimal staffing levels, equipment, and supplies.
- Manage department resources efficiently, minimizing waste while ensuring high-quality patient care.
7. - Clinical Decision-Making & Support- :
- Provide leadership in complex clinical cases, collaborating with consultants and specialists when required.
- Support clinical decision-making by reviewing patient progress, test results, and treatment plans.
- Skills & Qualifications- :
- Education- :
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) with specialization in Pediatrics or Neonatology.
- Postgraduate certification in Nursing Leadership, Neonatal/Pediatric Intensive Care, or related fields preferred.
- Experience- :
- Minimum 3 years of experience in NICU/PICU management or a similar role with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proven experience in supervising clinical teams and providing leadership in high-pressure healthcare environments.
- Skills- :
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in critical care nursing and pediatric/neonatal care.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in emergency situations.
