Overview:

The RN - Critical Care plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in critical care settings. This position is essential for ensuring the continuous monitoring and treatment of critically ill patients across various departments, including ICU, CCU, and emergency rooms. The RN - Critical Care Float is responsible for maintaining patient stability, administering medications, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting critically ill patients in various units, including ICU, CCU, and emergency rooms

- Conducting thorough patient assessments and monitoring vital signs

- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

- Assisting with emergency procedures and code responses

- Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

- Utilizing critical thinking skills to make timely and accurate decisions

- Ensuring compliance with medical protocols and safety standards

- Providing emotional support to patients and their families

- Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate medical records

- Participating in continuous professional development and training

- Remaining adaptable in dynamic healthcare environments

- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care

- Facilitating effective communication among healthcare team members

- Contributing to a culture of patient safety and positive outcomes

- Responding to changes in patient conditions with urgency and efficiency

Required Qualifications:

- Active RN license in the state of practice

- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing

- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)

- Minimum of 1 years of experience in critical care settings

- Demonstrated proficiency in patient assessment and emergency response

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively in high-stress and fast-paced environments

- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities

- Knowledge of advanced medical equipment and technologies

- Commitment to continuing education and professional development

- Adherence to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice

- Ability to collaborate and coordinate care with diverse healthcare teams

- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends

- Understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in critical care

- Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care
