Nursing Superintendent - Patient Care (1-2 yrs)
Job Description :
- To be responsible for planning quality nursing care for the patients.
- Taking over the report from Nursing Incharges daily
- To ensure the correct number of nursing personnel assigned to achieve the patient care.
- To check and perform the evaluation of the Nursing personnel.
- To conduct daily rounds in the wards and delegate work accordingly and update the same to Nursing Superintendent.
- To co-ordinate with other departments of the hospital for the smooth functioning.
- To assist in recruitment of nursing personnel.
- Will be responsible for manpower, materials and maintenance of all equipment and accurate records of both medical and nursing.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of the staff and their performance half yearly and annually.
- To coordinate with the activities of the Staff Nursing Hostel if required.
- To conduct weekly meeting with all the Nursing Supervisors and Sister-In-Charges.
- To co ordinate with the Nurse Educator in organizing regular In-service education to the nursing staff by the doctors and nursing personnel.
- Maintaining the discipline and systems in the department.
- To assist and co- ordinate in crisis management.
- To participate in the hospital activities related to community services.
- To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives.
- To be aware of departments performance and objective.
- To participate and conduct the various committee meetings of the organization
- To perform any job/ task as and when assigned by the management.
- To identify, investigate and monitor any hazardous practice/procedures which could pose health risks to patients, staff or the public, reporting findings and outlining actions to their line manager and relevant others.
- To teach all the employees about the infection control practices
- To inform all the employees about the steps to be taken in case of an accidental needle stick injury and the protocol to be followed.
- To Supervise the maintenance of the established protocols e.g. isolation procedures, hand washing techniques used, the use of hand rub, change of IV set, change of central line dressing, availability of supplies, terminal cleaning of a unit in the hospital.
- To update her/his knowledge skill periodically to meet the current & future challenges.
- To participate in the development of educational programs for all staff. To assess and identify training needs and develop training packages to meet those needs.
- To evaluate and review training as appropriate.
- To continuously evaluate and update control of infection measures throughout the organization, and to provide information to management on recent advances in Infection prevention and control.
- To ensure New employees are mentored by Incharge or by the senior Nurses
- To analyze incident reports and do RCA and CAPA and report to the HOD.
- To assess the Training needs identification of their respective departments and timely Updation of the same to the Nurse Educator to incorporate CNE.
- To ensure sufficient stock in the department and there is no stock out of Critical items.
- Taking rounds in the hospital regularly to assess and analyze the nursing services rendered
- Meeting Patients and Relatives to seek feedback to know the needs and filling the gaps and to improvises the services
- Maintaining Daily & Monthly, Yearly reports of required data like QI, NP Ratio, Stock status, Consumption, QIP etc.
