OPD Staff Nurse - Healthcare - B.Sc Nursing/GNM (2-8 yrs)

Qualification: B.Sc Nursing/GNM with valid registration from a recognized Nursing Council
Experience: Minimum post-qualification nursing experience required (preferably in an OPD/clinical setting)
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled OPD Staff Nurse to join our healthcare team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Outpatient Department (OPD) and contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compassionate healthcare environment. The role requires a committed individual with strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care and Clinical Services:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to OPD patients in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and minor surgeries.
- Monitor patient vital signs, document symptoms, and communicate concerns to the attending physician.
- Administer medications, dress wounds, and perform routine clinical tasks as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers about disease prevention, medication adherence, and health maintenance.
2. Emergency and First Aid Support:
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies in the OPD setting.
- Provide first aid and initiate emergency protocols for injuries or sudden illness.
- Stabilize patients and ensure swift referral to higher-level care if required.
3. Infection Control and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and standard precautions.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the OPD area to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
- Identify workplace hazards and proactively report or mitigate them to ensure a safe working environment for staff and patients.
4. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, treatments, and procedures.
- Document incidents, injuries, and illnesses systematically in compliance with legal and hospital guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the privacy of patient information at all times.
5. Quality Improvement and Staff Development:
- Participate in clinical audits, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement programs.
- Support the orientation and mentoring of new nursing staff and interns.
- Actively engage in training, workshops, and continuous professional development activities.
6. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, technicians, and administrative staff to provide coordinated and holistic care.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients from diverse backgrounds, respecting their cultural and personal preferences.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Karnataka State Nursing Council or any other recognized Indian Nursing Council.
- Minimum 1-2 years of post-qualification clinical experience in an OPD, outpatient clinic, or hospital setting.
- Strong clinical judgment, patient care ethics, and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and positive attitude in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy to manage electronic medical records (EMR).
