ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- An orthopedic nurse is responsible for the majority of patient care following any orthopedic surgical procedure. Orthopedic surgeries can include those performed on the bones, joints, muscles or spine. Some procedures are routine outpatient surgeries requiring minimal post-operative nursing care.

- Other surgeries, particularly those stemming from traumatic spinal injuries, can require months of post-operative care, coupled with routine rehabilitative therapy. Specific responsibilities include close supervision and care immediately following surgery, routine daily monitoring and care plan management.

- Understand the nature of the surgery, why it was performed

- Assess the patient immediately after surgery to determine his pain-management needs. Depending

- Document everything relating to the patient according to the hospital's protocol. Maintain accurate and detailed records about the patient's recovery, as these will be of vital importance to the patient's doctor at post-operative checkups. Help the patient reach the bathroom and manage other hygiene issues. Dress any wounds on a regular basis to avoid infection.

- Educate patients about post-surgical responsibilities. Explain pain management, and stress the importance of keeping wounds clean and maintaining rehabilitation appointments. Go over any rehabilitation exercises the patient should practice at home, if ordered by the doctor.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

1. Age: 21-51 yrs.

2. Qualification: Candidate should be graduate/diploma holder in relevant field.

3. Experience- Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field.

4. Good communication skills (mandatory)

5. Clients should have sufficient funds to sustain in country. Eg: Real Estate Property, Bank Balance Bank Deposits, FD, PPF.

IELTS not mandatory in Hongkong
