Perfusionist (4-10 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the heart-lung machine and other extracorporeal support systems during cardiac surgeries.
- Maintain and regulate patient blood flow, oxygenation, temperature, and pressure during procedures.
- Prepare, assemble, and calibrate perfusion equipment before surgery.
- Manage cardiopulmonary bypass, intra-aortic balloon pump, and cell saver operations as required.
- Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Monitor patient s physiological parameters and respond to emergency situations effectively.
- Maintain accurate perfusion records and adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Ensure proper maintenance and sterilization of all perfusion-related equipment.
- Participate in continuing education and departmental meetings to stay updated on advances in perfusion technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s / Master s degree in Perfusion Technology or an equivalent field.
- Certification / Registration as a Perfusionist (preferred or as per institutional requirement).
- Minimum 4 -10 years of hands-on experience in a cardiac surgery setup.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
