PETA - Research Associate (2-10 yrs)

- Independently research and interpret a variety of animal protection issues as it relates to reducing and replacing animal testing, particularly when required by regulatory agencies


- Identify, review, and develop recommendations for non-animal test methods through analysis of scientific literature and data sources


- Correspond with companies and government agencies and secure, attend and facilitate formal meetings with them for scientific discussion of testing


- Attend scientific conferences and communicate with scientists on specific issues relating to animal and non-animal test methods


- Obtain the necessary data for writing factsheets, white papers, reports, Bureau of Indian Standards recommendations, correspondence, and other documentation


- Analyze technical papers and translate scientific terminology into lay terms for use in research projects


- Prepare recommendations and represent the organisation in meetings with state and central government agencies, public- and private-sector organisations, scientific forums and committees, multinational companies, media, and advocacy and special-interest groups


- Coordinate with various PETA India departments and colleagues with PETA affiliates as necessary to advance PETA India's work to end animal testing


- Perform any other duties, as required, in order to advance PETA India's work to end animal testing
