Pharmacist Job Description

Position Title: Pharmacist

Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore, Karnataka, India

License: Karnataka Pharmacy Council Registration

Job Summary:

As a licensed pharmacist in Karnataka, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical care, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice in Karnataka. Your primary objective will be to promote safe and effective medication use while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Medication Dispensing:

- Receive prescriptions from patients or healthcare providers.

- Interpret prescriptions and ensure accuracy in dispensing medications.

- Prepare and label prescriptions accurately following established protocols.

- Provide appropriate counseling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.

Medication Management:

- Maintain proper inventory levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

- Monitor medication storage conditions to ensure potency and safety.

- Conduct periodic stock audits and manage expiry dates of medications.

- Follow procedures for controlled substances and maintain relevant documentation.

Customer Service:

- Assist customers with inquiries regarding medications, health products, and general health-related questions.

- Address customer concerns or complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.

- Provide advice on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing pharmacy practice in Karnataka.

- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, transactions, and patient information as required by law.

- Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on pharmaceutical developments and regulatory changes.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses, to ensure optimal patient care.

- Communicate effectively with other pharmacy staff members to coordinate workflow and ensure efficiency.

- Participate in multidisciplinary healthcare teams as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm or D.Pharm) degree from a recognized institution.

- Valid license to practice pharmacy in Karnataka issued by the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council.

- Strong understanding of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical calculations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
