Role Overview:

The Pediatrician provides comprehensive medical care for children, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, ensuring evidence-based, patient-centred care in hospital wards and outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and manage common pediatric illnesses, infections, and chronic conditions.

- Conduct routine check-ups, growth monitoring, and developmental assessments.

- Prescribe medications, therapies, and vaccination schedules as per protocols.

- Order and interpret pediatric lab tests and imaging studies.

- Monitor and manage pediatric patients in hospital wards and outpatient care.

- Collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals, and parents for effective child care.

- Provide health education to parents and caregivers regarding nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care.

- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and follow-ups in HIS/EMR systems.

- Participate in case discussions, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong clinical knowledge in general pediatrics.

- Ability to manage pediatric patients in ward and outpatient settings.

- Familiarity with pediatric diagnostics, lab interpretation, and growth assessment.

- Effective communication with children, parents, and hospital staff.

- Knowledge of hospital workflows, documentation standards, and patient safety protocols.

Qualification & Experience:

- Education: MBBS with MD/DNB in Pediatrics.

- Experience: 1- 5 years in general pediatrics in hospital or clinical settings.

- Certifications: BLS mandatory; PALS desirable.
