Platinum Hospital - OT Scrub Nurse (1-3 yrs)
1. Pre-Operative Duties
- Prepare the operating room with sterile surgical instruments, drapes, and supplies.
- Ensure all equipment is functional before the procedure.
- Verify patient details, consent, and surgical site before surgery.
- Assist in positioning and preparing the patient for surgery.
2. Intra-Operative Duties
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
- Pass surgical instruments, sponges, and sutures to the surgeon as needed.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly.
- Handle surgical specimens properly for lab analysis.
- Monitor and count instruments and materials to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
3. Post-Operative Duties
- Assist in dressing wounds and cleaning surgical instruments.
- Ensure proper disposal of used surgical materials.
- Prepare the operating room for the next procedure.
- Document surgical procedures and any complications.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies.
- Report any errors, equipment malfunctions, or patient safety concerns.
5. Team Collaboration & Training
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other OT staff.
- Participate in surgical briefings and debriefings.
- Attend workshops and training sessions to stay updated on new surgical techniques.
