Job Title: OT Technician

Department: Operation Theatre

Reports To: OT In-charge / Chief Nursing Officer

Job Summary:

- The OT Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre by maintaining a sterile environment, managing surgical instruments and equipment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring patient safety

-  The role requires strict adherence to infection control protocols, hospital standards, and efficient coordination with medical and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and maintain a sterile, safe, and functional OT environment.

- Sterilize, arrange, and manage surgical instruments and consumables.

- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during routine and complex surgical procedures.

- Monitor patient safety, support anesthetic procedures, and ensure smooth workflow during operations.

- Maintain and operate surgical equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.

- Implement and follow strict infection control and hospital protocols.

- Manage OT inventory, track usage, and coordinate timely availability of instruments and supplies.

- Maintain records of procedures, equipment maintenance, and OT schedules.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives in OT practices and patient care.

Qualification & Experience:

- Diploma or Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OT Tech) or related allied health program.

- 0- 2 years experience in hospital OT preferred; freshers with relevant training can apply.

- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, surgical instruments, infection control, and patient care protocols.
