Position: ICU RMO

Role Overview:

The ICU RMO is responsible for providing continuous medical care to critically ill patients, assisting consultants, and managing day-to-day ICU operations in a structured hospital environment. The role demands clinical expertise, quick decision-making, and adherence to standardized protocols for patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor critically ill patients, assess vital signs, and promptly report clinical changes to ICU consultants.

- Initiate basic emergency interventions and support advanced life-saving procedures under supervision.

- Assist in intubation, extubation, central line insertion, arterial line monitoring, and other ICU procedures.

- Manage ventilator settings, oxygen therapy, and infusion medications as per ICU protocols.

- Coordinate with nursing staff, perfusionists, and allied healthcare professionals for integrated patient care.

- Document patient history, ICU observations, interventions, and treatment plans accurately.

- Participate in Code Blue, rapid response, and resuscitation efforts.

- Review lab results, ABG, ECG, and imaging reports to support clinical decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and quality protocols.

- Liaise with patient families regarding care updates, treatment plans, and progress.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong clinical knowledge in critical care and emergency interventions.

- Proficiency in ICU procedures and life-support management.

- Ability to make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.

- Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

- Familiarity with ICU protocols, documentation, and hospital safety standards.
