Platinum Hospital - Scrub Nurse (1-3 yrs)
A Scrub Nurse is responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments, and ensuring smooth conduct of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes before surgery
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Count surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures
- Maintain proper handling and sterilization of surgical tools
- Monitor sterile field and prevent contamination
- Assist in positioning and draping the patient
- Handle specimens correctly and send them for lab analysis
- Coordinate with circulating nurse and OT team
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and instrument counts
- Ensure availability of all required surgical materials before procedure
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control policies, and safety guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements:
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid nursing registration
- Certification or training in Operation Theatre techniques preferred
- 1- 3 years of experience in OT / Surgical Unit
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Attention to detail and precision
- Ability to work under pressure in critical situations
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
