Radiologist - Hospital - MBBS (10-30 yrs)

Overseas/International/Hamilton/Waikato/New Zealand Job Code: 11903

Our client is looking to appoint a Specialist Breast Radiologist to work in one of its regional hospitals

The details: Permanent - Full time and part time hours available

About the role We are seeking a specialist Breast Radiologist who also has generalist skills to join our team of professionals.

- We have a busy breast service and your role would be to support this service. Duties would include being part of the diagnostic breast service reporting mammograms, breast ultrasounds, performing breast biopsies and preoperative localisations. The service is also part of Breast Screen Aotearoa, the national screening service, and for the right candidate you could become part of this team.

- The breast service is housed in a stand alone building which is currently being refurbished to accommodate a third mammography machine. We also have two mobile units providing screening services to the Midland area. The diagnostic clinics and screening assessment clinics are held on site with a team of dedicated MITs, breast surgeons, breast nurses and clerical staff. Weekly MDM meetings are held to discuss patient management. There is an active culture of research in the department.

- In the main Radiology department we have modern equipment, and we are growing the service to meet demand. We are focussed on creating and maintaining a welcoming and flexible work environment for all our staff. We have a vibrant team of Consultant Radiologists and Registrars who have well established links into all speciality and subspecialty clinical teams across the Waikato District Health Board; including providing imaging support as a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre. We are looking to grow the team with particular interest in sub specialities in Breast, Paediatrics, Neuro, Nuclear Medicine dual training, Interventional Radiology and cardio thoracic sub-speciality training. The scope of cases and the pathology is incredible with an interesting and varied case mix. Unique infections, rheumatic fever, indigenous health, rural health through to quad bike injuries - we have it all and we see what some practitioners from other locations might only read about.

- The Hospital one of New Zealand's largest teaching hospitals with opportunities to become involved in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, or even explore fellowship in sub specialities.
