Radiology Technician (3-4 yrs)
- Functions under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and Physician to facilitate the safe and effective completion of invasive diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures.
- Radiology Technologist possesses knowledge of aseptic technique, human anatomy, more advanced/complex/high-risk radiology procedures, techniques, and technology.
- Radiology Technicians are responsible for: The care and handling of highly complex, fragile, and delicate equipment; Direct and indirect patient care activities; clinical, clerical, materials management, and housekeeping.
- Promoting the values of the Hospital and functioning in a manner that is aligned with the hospital's goals for quality care, patient/client satisfaction, professional standards, the scope of the law, cost containment, efficiency, safety, and collaborative team effort.
- The radiology Technician assists with training new/less experienced radiology staff. Participates in QI. Demonstrates ability to prepare and set up for more complex radiology procedures and assist physicians and nurses during higher risk/low volume procedures. Acts as a resource person for the specialty. Takes 24-hour call.
- Explain to the patient the procedure, connect them to monitoring equipment, reassure, & comfort patients during procedures.
- Ensures consent, pre-procedure preparation, confidentiality, and privacy of patients.
- Keep track of supplies; make sure the travel cart is ready for use in the ICU or the OR. Restock and order supplies. Clean Radiology rooms, maintain, troubleshoot & sterilize all Radiology equipment.
- Follow specific guidelines for each procedure to be performed as per defined protocols
- Accountable for inventory management
- Responsible for checking and monitoring equipment, and reports malfunctioning.
- Responsible for timely calibration, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- To perform any job/task as and when assigned by the superior.
