Job Title OPERATION THEATRE TECHNICIAN
Qualification : 2 Years Diploma In Operation Theatre Technology/Anesthesia Technology,or B.Sc. In operation theatre technology
Knowledge :
- Responsible for look after of all the OT equipment, machine like (Anesthesia machine, suction machine, Electro cautery), Electrical connection points, pipelines points, Gas cylinders, Anesthesia Drug stoke & expire, Anesthesia trolley, Operation theatre table, operation theatre lights etc. and get them ready according to the surgery.
- Check stock and expire of emergency drug, IV fluid, syringes, needles, cannula, catheters.
- Assist the Anesthetics in canalization & connect all the vital sign (BP cuff, all monitoring probes)
- Responsible to assist Anesthetics at the time of giving Anesthesia (intubation, Reversal)
- Responsible to prepare Anesthesia drug According to the surgery.
- Responsible for making surgical position before and during surgery.
- Responsible for making IV infusion. Can assist a surgeon in the surgical procedure.
- Attends to the needs of the patient while inside the operating room
- Helping surgical team in other work
- Dressing the operating area after surgery
- Responsible for Shift the patient from OT to PACU (Post-operative care unit) or ICU.
- Also responsible to keep Anesthesia record.
- To fumigate OT in a week.
- Getting all the things ready for surgery according to the patient.
- Apart from these things an OT Technician must have the knowledge of giving CPR, operating of AED.
