Job Description :
- Gynecologists specialize in women's health. Their primary responsibilities include examining patients, diagnosing medical problems and treating various illnesses and diseases. Some Gynecologists also perform minor surgeries and laser procedures.
- Obstetricians specialize in treating women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. These physicians monitor the condition of both mothers and unborn babies. When it comes time to deliver, obstetricians manage the labor process and care for the mother after the baby is born.
- Although some physicians specialize in either gynecology or obstetrics, many work as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. A small percentage specialize in a particular area, such as adolescent gynecology, operative gynecology, fetal medicine or infertility.
