Principal Accountabilities:

A. Strategic:

- Implementation of polysomnographic diagnostic/care plan as prescribed by Physician

- Ensure optimum utilization of resources/consumables

- Follow Infection control practices as per guidelines

- Awareness of Patient rights & responsibilities, safety issues and relationship building

- Inventory/Equipment Management

- Report Patient/Attendant Feedback

- Adverse event/medication error reporting

B. Operational:

- Should be proficient in preparing equipment, gathering patient information, reviewing study protocols and providing explanations of procedures to patients of sleep studies. He or she must follow proper polysomnographic procedures, including applying electrodes and sensors, calibrating equipment and fitting the positive airways pressure mask.

- Their duties also include testing preparation procedures, data acquisition and observation documentation (record scoring) and tabulation of final data for further analysis.

- Provide Basic Life Support ( as per American heart association) in case of an emergency

- Fluent in English, verbal and written in addition to local language

- Perform night duties at patient home (for sleep diagnostics)

- Operates with a strong sense of empathy towards patients

- Ability to educate and up-scale understanding of patient need

- Operate and maintain the medical equipment as required

- Maintain medical equipment and replenish consumables

- Observe, record and report the patient's condition, the treatment provided and drug reactions, if any

- Patient Education on disease management, Infection control, rights & responsibilities

- Clarify doubts of patient/attendants

Educational Qualification:

- Essential: Graduation with 6-12 months polysomnographic training

- Preferable: BLS (AHA) Certified

Experience: Minimum 2 years- experience in sleep/polysomnography diagnostics and installation of devices (CPAP, BiPAP, OC).

Knowledge and Skills:

- Computer literacy

- Effective communication skills

- Conceptual, analytical and decision making skills

- Multitasking abilities
