Job Title: Staff Nurse
Job Description:
As a Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting wellness within the healthcare facility. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of nursing, including patient assessment, medication administration, treatment planning, and patient education. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to all healthcare regulations and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychological, and emotional aspects. Gather relevant patient data to develop individualized care plans.
Medication Administration: Administer medications accurately and safely according to physician orders and established protocols. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions and intervene as necessary.
Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient treatment plans based on assessment findings and medical orders. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information about their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques. Offer guidance on managing chronic conditions and promoting overall wellness.
Nursing Procedures: Perform various nursing procedures, such as wound care, IV therapy, and catheterization, in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards.
Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights and ensure that their needs and preferences are respected throughout their healthcare journey. Serve as a liaison between patients and other healthcare professionals.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, care plans, and progress notes. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the healthcare facility.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing life-saving interventions and coordinating with the emergency response team as necessary.
Professional Development: Stay current with advances in nursing practice, attending training sessions and continuing education programs as required. Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- CPR certification
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality care
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
