Staff Nurse - ICU - Emergency/Critical Care Department - Super Specialty/Tertiary Care Hospital (1-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Looking for Nurses with ICU experience (Min 1 year)

Non ICU Nurses with similar experience, but very strong candidature can be considered

Female Nurses preferred

Nurses have to be ok to work in a 12 hour shift at patients home

Shifts will be rotational, both day and night.

No overtime shifts will be given

Over and above the salary, there is conveyance (upto 7000 per month), mobile allowance (upto 1000 per month) and daily allowance when on duty at customer house (200 per day)

Principal Accountabilities -

Strategic:

- Implementation of care plan as prescribed by Physician

- Ensure optimum utilization of resources/clinical supplies

- Follow Infection control practices as per guidelines

- Awareness of Patient rights & responsibilities, safety issues and relationship building

- Inventory/Equipment Management

- Report Patient/Attendant Feedback

- Adverse event/medication error reporting

Operational:

Should be proficient in providing nursing services not limited to and like Maintain drug regimen (Oral, IV & Infusion Pumps etc.), Vital Monitoring, Invasive Lines (Intravenous) Care, Parenteral or Oral Nutrition Care ( Feeding + tube care ), Drainage Care ( ICD and surgical drainage etc.), Urinary Catheter care and Input output measurements, Stoma care, Pressure Sore monitoring and care, rehabilitation

- Provide Basic Life Support (as per American heart association) in case of an emergency

- Fluent in English, verbal and written in addition to local language

- Perform shift duties of 12 hours

- Operates with a strong sense of empathy towards patients

- Ability to educate and up-scale understanding of patient need.

- Administer first aid & life support care in home care setting

- Operate and maintain the medical equipment as required

- Assess nature and extent of illness and prioritize medical care

- Maintain medical equipment and replenish supplies

- Observe, record and report the patient's condition, the treatment provided and drug reactions, if any

- Maintain personal hygiene of the patient (sponging, etc)

- Bed making and feeding of patient

- Patient Education on Infection control, rights & responsibilities

- Provide psychological support and clarify doubts of patient/attendants

Performance Parameters:

- Adherence to the duty roster

- Quality & timeliness of the administration of nursing care

- Timely & correct documentation of patient records

- Ensure error free nursing care

- Participate in ongoing trainings

- Maintain highest standards in infection control

- Compliance to nursing SOPs & protocols

- Ensure availability of emergency medication/equipment

- Prompt reporting of patient feedback, adverse events & adverse drug reactions

Educational Qualification:

- Essential: Diploma in nursing recognized by Nursing Council of India. Must be registered with the Indian/State Nursing Council.

- Preferable: BSc/MSc Degree. BLS/ACLS (AHA) Certified.

- Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a super specialty/tertiary care hospital preferably in Emergency/Critical care department.

- Out of which 6 month ICU is compulsory.

- Rotational Duty/Should be ok with night shifts

- Computer literacy

- Effective communication skills

- Conceptual, analytical and decision making skills

- Multitasking abilities

Qualification : GNM/B.sc Nursing
