Position Name : Veterinary Hospital Management Expert

Reports to : Principal Secretary - Animal and Fisheries Resources Department

Essential

- Master's degree or higher (full time) in Hospital Administration / Health Care Management / Hospital and Healthcare Management / Veterinary Science

- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in veterinary healthcare sector

Preferred

- Less than 70 years of age as on 1st January 2019

- Experience in planning and implementing projects / plans / programs for various aspects of inland water fishing and value chain enhancement

- Proven track record of managing / advising / working on fisheries-related projects / initiatives / programs in state / central government organisations / bilateral / multilateral organizations (such as NABARD, Central Institute of Brackish Water Aquaculture (CIBA), Central Marine Fisheries Institute (CMFRI), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, World Bank, FAO etc.)

- Certificates / Courses in relevant areas will add weight to the candidature

- Honors / Awards / recognized publications in relevant area will be an added advantage

Key Accountabilities :

Strategizing And Expert Advisory :

- Support the Department in strengthening the various programs and projects in the Fisheries sector and enhancing the related value chain of Inland Fisheries by providing expert technical advice, to facilitate achievements of various targets and objectives of the Department

- Support Department to implement programs to bring about product enhancement in the sector of Fisheries in the state

- Lead the process of program development and project design for Fisheries Directorate under the Department and facilitate in the preparation of detailed project reports and standard operating procedures

- Provide technical inputs related to hydrology to utilize water logged resources such as wetlands for aquaculture and fisheries

- Identify the technological requirements for carrying out inland fishing activities and in conjunction with the relevant officials in the Department, design plans for making the same available at the inland fishing sites

- Design and plan capacity building and training session for farmers and the fish cultivators about various process improvement methods and create awareness about the advantages of inland fishing

- Analyze and research about the best practices in inland water fishing from states such as West Bengal and give suitable recommendations for implementation in Bihar
