Responsibilities:
- Vitreoretinal surgeons diagnose and treat eye conditions in adults and children using technical equipment and testing. They perform sophisticated medical and surgical procedures, including delicate surgeries on tissue thinner than a butterfly's wing. They may also teach and conduct clinical research.
Skills:
- Vitreoretinal surgeons should be well versed with all ophthalmology procedures and have experience with clinical and diagnostic methodologies of the retina. They should be able to perform surgery independently.
